A special release of the Sony PlayStation that was only available for the videogame developers was known as Net Yaroze. This was a more expensive version of the initial Sony PlayStation, and it came in black rather than the normal grey colour.
This was a specifically developers only version of the PlayStation. This unit came with instructions, as well as tools that allow someone to program PlayStation games. Not only would it allow you to develop PlayStation games, but it would not need the original developer's suite.
Although this unit was cheaper than the first developer suite, it also lacked a lot of the tools that this unit came with. One of the biggest examples of that is the fact that there is only 2 MB of space allowed by the Net Yaroze.
This system did not have any regional lockout, and therefore virtually play any game. This was the only Sony released console to allow this. But due to the allowance of only 2 MB of RAM, you could not officially make a game. You could make smaller version games that could be crammed into 2 MB of space. An example of such games is the game Ridge Racer. This game played entirely on the 2 MB of space, with the only exception to that being the live streamed musical tracks.
