After the release of the Sony PlayStation 2, the Sony Corporation decided that it was time to revamp the Sony PlayStation. This decision completely redesigned the Sony PlayStation into what is now known as the Sony PlayStation 1 or the simpler name, the PS one. This new version of the Sony PlayStation, which is now called the PS one, is a third of the size of the original Sony PlayStation. This version was released in 2000.
Then after completely selling all of their units of the PlayStation 1, the Sony Corporation then made available an LCD screen, along with an adapter to power the PS one. This made the PS one very compatible, and it could be used in vehicles.
Not only was the exterior modified, but the interior as well. The Sony Corporation decided to protect itself against any future mod chips. It did this by completely changing the entire internal layout of the PS one. This new game console also came with a brand-new GUI and the original serial port was dropped. The reason that they dropped the serial port was the fact that people could use an external style mod chip.
